Dr. Shatanik Mukherjee

I am working on the conformational dynamics of a rohodpsin-guanylyl cyclase. Apart from biochemical and biophysical characterization of the protein, I will work on several site-directed labeling strategies of the protein for time-resolved spectroscopy studies (EPR, FT-IR). The principal aim of my research is to elucidate the functionally relevant structural changes in the protein upon photoactivation and ligand-binding.
