New DFG grant awarded to Stefan and Rüdiger



"New DFG grant awarded to Stefan and Rüdiger to study "Sublethal effects of environmental change on tropical freshwater fish: responses of an electric fish to changes in dissolved oxygen and temperature"

We plan to research the sublethal effects of temperature and oxygen stress on the weakly electric fish, Gnathonemus petersii at behavioral, morpho-physiological and molecular levels. To investigate the interactive impact of DO and temperature stress, we want to combine long-term DO treatments with acute temperature challenges. The project started in October 2024 and will run for three years. Detailed information on funding can be found here:
